We are delighted to announce the return of the Denzell Gardens Book Festival for 2017, with our Pop-Up Poetry Picnic!
This year’s event will be free to enter, and we’d love you to pack up a picnic and join us for an afternoon of outdoor events, inspired by this year’s National Poetry Day theme of ‘Freedom’.
Festival favourite Terry Caffrey will be back to delight everyone with his poetry. You can also join the students of Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College as they head off on a Bear Hunt or go on an adventure with Cheshire Cat Yoga.
For a £2 entry fee, you can explore our poetry trail: find the poems dotted around the gardens and answer all the questions to win a prize!
There will also be pocket-money crafts, a book swap stall and a cosy reading corner to keep everyone entertained, as well as drinks and snacks from our friends at The Garden.
The Festival will open at 12.00, with events running until 3.30.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Clare, Becky and Megan
Following on from the success of our evening with Sunday Times Bestselling author Jessie Burton, we are priveleged to welcome Julie Nicholson to Bowdon, to talk about her memoir A Song for Jenny.
The time has come to announce the theme for the fifth annual Denzell Gardens Book Festival and this year we are inviting you to Feel Good with a Book!
We have secured a fantastic line up of children’s writers and illustrators and are thrilled to be working alongside Peter and Frances at Urmston Bookshop, who will be organising the book sales on the day. Sign up for email alerts to be notified when our line up is announced.
Once again, there will be a whole host of other activities taking place on the day, along with delicious food and drink, all supplied by local businesses.
We look forward to welcoming you to Denzell Gardens on September 26th. Until then, don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on twitter for more information about our Festival and writers.
